Hi!

In short, I'm collecting stories about the MSC including its transition to a virtual presence in response to COVID-19. For the moment, the push is for video clips, but written text is also welcome.

Please reply to confirm that you have received this email. I am using an old email address which may no longer work.

I especially remember WHATEVER. Don't let this remembrance of mine cramp your style for any other tales you might wish to tell.

If you could give me a prognosis of whether you might be able to contribute video by Sunday, 28 March, or shortly thereafter, that would be a big help.

Read on for further details.

-Dick

Thank you for considering being a part of [MSC Stories]!

I am commissioning a video about the MSC; some of its history; and how we made the transition to a virtual environment under COVID-19. I would love it if you could provide some input. A portion of the project is "where are they now" as well as any reminiscences you might have. I have engaged Daniel Masciari, a world class film editor whom I have known for about 15 years through Actors Workshop of Ithaca. Daniel and I have shared acting and producing credits in various film projects over the years. We have always enjoyed working together and he's excited about the project. He remembers stopping in to see me in my office and recognized how special the vibe of the MSC was.

My concept title is Team S.T.E.A.M. -- Community in the Math Support Center at Cornell University.

I'm hoping you might also represent the A in STEAM if you'd like to share any such activities. If a portion of your clip shows some aspect of your artistic talents such segments can be used to great advantage to provide variety in the final edit and add depth to understanding who people in the MSC have been.

Daniel has asked for a maximum of 10 minutes in the length of your video submission. Expect that much will be left "on the cutting room floor", as they say, but provide him with more choices in editing.

If video is not your thing, I'm also collecting written stories.

Please find two PDF files attached:

(1) Technical instructions for recording: The_Math_Support_Center_Shooting_and_Uploading_Your_Video.pdf

(2) Fillable form PDF release for permission to use your clip: MSC-Standard_Release-image_of_performer_fillable.pdf

Thanks!

-Dick

P.S. Any comments or ideas about how to make this letter, or the [MSC Stories] project itself better are most welcome!
