# Hi! This forum is for students to get help with questions related to math problems and concepts.

## Post here and one of the Math Support Center tutors will help you out!

No concrete schedule has been established yet for tutors to monitor this forum - bear with us while we set up - but you can expect a 12-hour turnaround time at most, and generally a much quicker response for questions posted before 10 PM. When we have a tutor schedule, it'll be displayed here. A couple things:

1. Important: we cannot just give you the answers to homework problems. Help with homework is definitely fine, but do not just expect an answer! Show us what you have done so far, describe your attempts and any partial solutions you may have. We will lead you in the right direction from there.

1. You don't remember what the derivative of sin(x) is? Post a question here asking about it. You don't remember what a derivative is? Come into the Math Support Center! Broad conceptual questions are difficult to address online. Stop by the Math Support Center (Malott 256) for free tutoring any time from 10 AM - 4:30 PM weekdays and 7 PM - 11 PM Sundays. New this semester, every Tuesday and Thursday the MSC will be holding tutoring sessions on North Campus from 7 PM - 9PM in the Tatkon center in Balch 3331. No appointment is necessary for either location.

1. It can be a pain to type out math-related questions on a computer. The easiest thing to do is just write out the problem in English, phrasing things as precisely as you can. For example, suppose you have to find
If you had to ask about this, you could phrase it as "What is the integral of e^(x^(-1)) from 0 to 1?", or something of that nature. In general, explain it how you'd like it to be explained to you and you should be fine.
